Herbal Incense (6)
Smell - Lightly flowery lotus, poppy or other common flower taste with a slight spicy harsh note. If the smell made its way to taste, we would be onto a winner.
Texture - Fluffy with black bits, medium fluffy, not so much as TE. Occasional blue bits too.
Taste - Still, like the others, a little harsh and “kronicy”. Not as bad as the original. Light flowery aspect though also. If they lost the harshness and stuck to the floweriness I’d be happier.
Buzz - Probably stronger or similar to Kronic skunk. I’m not sure if its slightly stronger, or simply more smoke-able.
Overall - Because its nicer and more smoke-able than some of the other similar blends, its not a bad option for a medium/strong level smoke, because of nice smell, okay taste and 1.25 gram quantity, I’d rate it as better than space, aroma and Kronic original/skunk but not as good as the better ones. Mid-level, but pretty good for mid-level.
The choice is endless. Spice Gold, Kronic Skunk, Tai High, Rastas Ganja etc the list goes on and on. All claim to get you high and all claim to be the best out there. So which ones actually work, what sort of buzz do they give, what do they taste and look like?. I will attempt to unlock the mystery and give some insight into the majority currently on the market in NZ.

Smell: Spicy thick smell, cinnamon-ish, unique to this blend. Does actually smell like some kind of tai incense, its nice.
Consistency: Lighter material a little like space. Fluffier than standard crushed leaf damiana base, but not as fluffy as spice was.
Taste: Spicy, cinnamon-ish (but not really!), “tai” taste. Hard to say it “tastes like this”, because doesn’t really taste like anything else, but its a spicy rather than sweet taste, smooth and not at all harsh. Quite pleasant to smoke.
Effect: Definately the strongest I’ve tried. Big warm round head high, that comes on quick. There may be some “dreamy” undertones, to the effect, but I can’t say for sure.
Overall: Has to be amongst the best incenses out there, for sure. It has a nice flavor and strong warm effect.

Smell: Odd, almost like pot but kind of off somehow.
Appearance: Quite fine crushed leaf, powdery and very dark.
Taste: Very peculiar, tastes like strange outdoor pot kinda, but mixed with soap or something. I tried it a second time for the review, and I believe the taste, and aftertaste is like clove oil, or nutmeg. So bad, I cant finish more than a few tokes! Yuck.
Strength: Unknown, couldn’t get through enough. Seems to have some effect, but not worth the suffering.
Overall: Simply crappy.
Herbal incense review: Tokearoa, Dust, Magic Dragon & Chimera
Written by Drael
Okay, I got four different incense blends to try this week. So here are my impressions of them all, in a bit of a review roundup.
Kronic: Tropical Explosion, is a very fluffy material, with a light spicy smell, and light taste. It doesn’t taste very sweet like the name suggests, but its good enough tasting with a small amount of “pull” to it.
